Beginner/Novice:
These rides cater for those with little or no experience. Instruction in the arena is given before setting out for a gentle walk on the quiet roads of Carrowholly which lead to the open strands of Clew Bay. Enjoy magnificent views of Clew Bay and its enchanting islands with Croagh Patrick, place of pilgrimage lurking in the background. When passing by “The Seals Rock” try not to disturb the seals as they bask on the rocks. As you ride along the shore line you will see Dora Inch Island formerly owned by John Lennon of the Beatles fame. These rides introduce the riders to horse-riding and are a wonderful way to experience the magnificent coastline of Clew Bay.
Intermediate:
These rides are suitable for riders who have previous experience and who are comfortable rising to the trot. The trek takes you across the coastline of Clew Bay with magnificent views of the Islands.
Advanced:
Riders must be well experienced and be able to canter in open spaces, along the strands of Clew Bay and across hilly terrain towards Rose Hill Castle in Carrowholly. Rose Hill Castle was formerly owned by Gráinne Uaile, the great seafaring pirate queen. Here an unsurprised view of Clew Bay and the offshore islands is an unforgettable experience for the rider.
